Certificate IV in Retail Management

Overview

This course has been designed to develop the first line management skills of those working in the retail industry. It applies to those who are managing a small retail outlet, or a section or department within a larger retail store. This courses requires the participant to complete units in management, inventory, employee relations, clerical/administration, finance, operations, people management and planning.

Designed for

Staff who have previously completed certificate III in Retail Operations or Certificate III in Retail Supervision or have at least two years relevant retail employment experience at this level of qualification.

Course Outcomes

This course will provide participants with the knowledge and skill to:

·         Manage sales and service delivery

·         Administer human resources policy

·         Manage merchandising displays and store presentations

·         Provide effective leadership through the management of people, information, operations and resources to achieve business objectives

Course Structure

      A total of 12 units of competency must be completed.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

A formal process for recognising skills and knowledge, RPL takes into account previous studies you may have completed as well as life and work experiences. You may be granted credits or exemptions for some units in this course.

Qualifications and Recognition

Upon successful completion of this course students will receive a Certificate IV in Retail Management.

This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
