Certificate IV in Transport and Distribution
(Road Transport)
Overview
This qualification provides competencies for supervisors and middle management in various sectors in the road transport industry. It also covers the operation of a multi-combination vehicle, fleet logistics, quality control and managing people. Fields available for selection include load handling, occupational health and safety, customer service, communication and team building, calculations, computer and technology, security, resource management, business planning and contract and procurement.
Designed for
Freight administration officer (senior), freight salesperson, transport operations supervisor, shift/charge foreperson, freight administration supervisor and armoured vehicle driver supervisor.
Course Outcomes
This course will provide participants with the knowledge and skill to:
· Evaluate and analyse current practices
· Develop new procedures for performing current practices
· Provide guidance and leadership in the workplace
· Implement and monitor the organisations OHS policies, procedures and programs in the relevant work area to meet legislative requirements
· Market products and services and ensure that customers receive high quality service
· Promote the use and implementation of innovative work practices to effect change
Course Structure
A total of 28 units of competency must be completed.

A formal process for recognising skills and knowledge, RPL takes into account previous studies you may have completed as well as life and work experiences. You may be granted credits or exemptions for some units in this course.

Upon successful completion of this course students will receive a Certificate IV in Transport and Distribution (Road Transport).
