Certificate III in Transport and Distribution

                        (Warehousing & Storage)

Overview

A general qualification for the warehousing and storage industry, encompassing a defined range of skilled operations, usually within a range of broader related activities involving known routines, methods and procedures, such as handling cargo and stock, equipment checking and maintenance, receive goods and replenish stock, handle cargo and stock, load handling, occupational health and safety, communication and calculations, quality, computers and technology, resource management, security, records and carrying out operations on equipment and systems. This course delivers foundation knowledge and skills required to enter employment in a warehousing and distribution or logistics environment.

Designed for

People working in the logistics industry including, Store person, warehousing employee, grain handler, freight despatch, pick and pack operator and forklift driver.

Course Outcomes

This course will provide participants with the knowledge and skill to:

·         Gain the fundamentals which apply in the warehousing and storage industry

·         Learn interpersonal, communication and customer service skills

·         Effectively communicate with people at all levels

·         Shift materials safely using manual handling techniques

·         Work effectively in a team environment

·         Accurately process and handle information, documentation and stock

·         Gain the skills required to follow health, safety and security procedures

·          Organise despatch operations

·         Understand the importance teamwork

Course Structure

      A total of 21 units of competency must be completed.

 

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

A formal process for recognising skills and knowledge, RPL takes into account previous studies you may have completed as well as life and work experiences. You may be granted credits or exemptions for some units in this course.

Qualifications and Recognition

Upon successful completion of this course students will receive a Certificate III in Transport and Distribution (Warehousing and Storage).

This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
