Diploma in Business (Frontline Management)
Overview
The changing workplace has led to the development of a significantly different role for Frontline Managers. Today’s Frontline Managers have a major leadership role and are responsible for facilitating, developing and supporting team cooperation within a strategic framework. This course is designed to cover all industries. To meet the challenges of globalisation, increased competition, best practices, managing knowledge and the increasing complexity of work, many organisations are recognising that effective workplace leadership and team approach are critical to an organisations success.
The focus is on tactical and strategic issues, looking at the big picture and often evaluating the direction of the organisation. The standards, ethics and values they display will to a significant degree, have effects on the performance of both individuals and teams within an organisation.
Designed for
Individuals who have responsibility for team or business unit performance and who are required to make a broader contribution to the development and implementation of enterprise strategy.
Course Outcomes
This course will provide participants with the knowledge and skill to:
· Analyse and plan approaches to technical problems or management requirement
· Transfer and apply theoretical concepts and/or technical creative skills to a range of situations
· Evaluate information using it to forecast for planning or research purposes
· Develop the range of competencies required of Frontline Managers in a changing economic environment
· Identify the roles and responsibilities of Frontline Managers
· Evaluate the strategic issues Frontline Managers play in assisting their organisation
· Demonstrate the ability to provide effective leadership through the management of people, information, operations and resources to achieve business objectives in a team-based environment
Course Structure
A total of 11 units of competency must be completed.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
A formal process for recognising skills and knowledge, RPL takes into account previous studies you may have completed as well as life and work experiences. You may be granted credits or exemptions for some units in this course.

Qualifications and Recognition
Upon successful completion of this course students will receive a Diploma in Business (Frontline Management).
This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
